About SOR

Stories of Romance is a site that promotes Romantic literature in a variety of genres; from Historical to Contemporary, from Multicultural to Erotic, Suspense and Paranormal, and so on.

Text books describe The “‘Romantic Period” as an artistic, literary and intellectual movement that originated in the second half of the 18th century in Europe, and gained strength in reaction to the Industrial Revolution. In many ways, this is still our escape in modern days, whether you are rich or poor, office worker, blue colour, domestic engineer or student. The movement was and still is a personal revolt against social, economic and political norms of our age, and for many, our daily lives. Naturally, romanticism means different things to different people, but we all yearn for love and affection, acceptance and nurturing, and why not also adventure and fantasy. All this is embodied strongly the literature presented on this site.

The movement validated strong emotion as an authentic source of aesthetic experience, placing emphasis on such emotions as trepidation, horror and terror and awe—especially that which is experienced in confronting the sublimity of untamed nature and its picturesque qualities, both new aesthetic categories.

Modern usage of term “Romance” usually refer to the romance novel, which is a subgenre that focuses on the relationship and romantic love between two people; these novels must have an “emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending. “Despite the popularity of the popular meaning of Romance, other works are still, occasionally, referred to as romances because of their uses of other elements descended from the medieval romance, or from the Romantic movement: larger-than-life heroes and heroines, drama and adventure, marvels that may become fantastic, themes of honor and loyalty, or fairy-tale-like stories and story settings.

In short, whatever your interpretation of Romance may be, you are bound to find it on Stories of Romance.

A chance meeting...

Life didn't turn out the way I'd ever hoped it would. I got pregnant at 14. Same year my mom got diagnosed with MS. Dad bailed on us and my life felt like it suddenly started to spiral out of control. I'm 21 now, I go to college, I work hard, trying to make something of myself. I wasn't supposed to be at that burlesque bar Valentine's Day. I wasn't supposed to meet Ryan Cosgrove, but I did. And now nothing will ever be the same.

Love born from pain...

I'm a retired Marine, an MMA fighter, and when I was younger something terrible happened to me. Life is hard and I'm so tired of pretending its not. I'm in a burlesque bar, drowning my sorrows, trying to shut out the demons breathing down my neck always reminding me I'm not good enough. Then I see Liliana Delgado and something inside of me- something I'd thought long dead- stirs to life. I wonder... can she save me? I hope she can, because I don't think I can save myself.

This is our moment...

Note from Author: For anyone familiar with my previous works, this is nothing like those books. This is a romance yes, but also a book that deals with some serious issues. I hope you'll trust me enough to take this journey with me into contemporary new adult fiction.

STORY DESCRIPTION

...she's done everything to hide her past...

Angie Fletcher has worked hard to put her Midwest farmer's daughter image behind her, happily replacing it with a move to San Diego and landing her dream job as a sophisticated up and coming TV reporter at KSUN. She even has a fiancé who totally understands her and her career goals. Everything is perfect until she's assigned to cover a community gardening project--definitely not the hard news assignment she's been hoping for. She does her best to grit her teeth and just get through it, but when she meets long-haired, devastatingly handsome and mysterious Jason Macdonald, owner of Green Zone--the subject of her assignments--he manages to get under her skin in a way she doesn't want and can barely handle. But, hey, she's a professional, right? So what if his casual touch makes her stomach do somersaults?

...he'll do anything to forget his past...

Jason Macdonald has thrown his heart and soul into his new business--helping urban neighborhoods reclaim land and create thriving community gardens. It's a far cry from his former fast-paced life when he ran an exclusive landscape architect business. He's done with working 24/7 and he's especially done with women who are career driven over everything else. He's buried his past, including some heartaches that will never heal...and he's finally found his own patch of paradise and loves the new business he's in. When he learns the new KSUN reporter is resisting covering his new business, he's ready to set her straight. She's everything he expects--type-A all the way...but he also suspects she's hiding something. When she lets her guard down, he sees a glimpse of the real Angie. But what is she hiding...and why does he care so much?

As their attraction builds and they are forced to work together, will Angie and Jason each face their pasts in order to open up their hearts to an unexpected future?
